The thought of knitting socks used to scare the pants off me. Once I got over myself, and realized the worst that could happen is I frog (unravel) them, I dove in and now I LOVE socks, they are my go-to project. Portable, fast (for me), and you can always use socks in all climates. I learned to knit while living in Florida, and wore socks everyday to work. I used to love being all business, but with a smidgen of whimsy hidden under my pants leg.
My latest project are toe up ribbed vanilla socks. I plan to create a beginner video to start people knitting a sock as their first project. WHAT?! Yes, basic socks use only a few stitches, give you tons of practice, which lends to muscle memory for your feisty fingers, and your result is something vastly more useful than a scarf. I am using 2 Knit Picks circular needles, with a K3P1 rib. The yarn is Deborah Norville Serenity Sock Weight. It is a blend of merino wool, Rayon and nylon for durability. My socks from this yarn go into the normal wash, and dryer (low heat), and come out great.

Just like all the cool kids, I thought I should start a blog.
I'll be writing about gaming, YouTube-ing, knitting, baking, gardening and all my geeky adventures. |
